Con todo y su nombre de álbum irreverente, Phoenix, ya van en su 4to álbum, y nos regalan con su música alegre, “up-beat” y entretenida, si bien un poquito monocromática. 1901 y Love Like a Sunset son geniales.
Vaya, son tan buenos que nos podemos olvidar que son franceces.

De The Temper Trap, banda de australianos medio Post Punkeros muy rítmicos, un tanto espaciales (de espacios abiertos), nos agrada con música muy fácil de escuchar y muy melódica. Es su primer álbum y no muchas bandas han tenido un inicio tan prometedor.

Lady GaGa es una joyita, más bien escribía canciones para otros artistas hasta que se dio cuenta que era mejor que ellos (que no escriben ni en la sopa de letras) y se decidió a lanzar The Fame, y The Fame Monster.
Como su nombre artístico nos dice, le gusta Queen, y se nota mucho en su estilo, encontramos ecos y algo de aquel rock operético, épico y atmosférico que el gran Mercury nos dejó. David Bowie también se asoma por ahí, y por supuesto Madonna y Michael Jackson la han influenciado.
De hecho, si alguien será la heredera de Madonna, será la señorita Radio GaGa, y no Britney Spears (eso ya Q.E.D.).

Si les gustó su primer disco, este les gustará aún más. Es menos pop y más electro/glam/je ne sais quoi… Sumamente recomendable. Y por cierto, dice que va a revolucionar el pop.

La versión es en vivo en el Albert Hall. Dato curioso, en la versión original, Brandon empieza a cantar en la primera “estrofa” (no se como se diga, no soy músico), y en esta versión en vivo no lo hace sino hasta la segunda; en el concierto en la Ciudad de México supongo que debió haber sido igual, excepto que tanta gente empezamos a cantar en la primera que no le quedó de otra que cantar también.

Uno de las no tan apreciadas canciones de Guns N’ Roses, sin embargo de mis favoritas, de esas que provocan escalofríos en la espina.

Y temo que jamás se recuperen. Lejos quedaron rolones como Read My Mind, Why Do I Keep Counting y Somebody Told Me para ser reemplazados por Bailemos en el Antro, Vamos al Antro, y Mis Amigos los Pipopes del Antro de su nuevo y antrero album Day & Age.

Una verdadera pena, requiescat in pace Matones, y recuerden que su sublime y femenino fracaso solo alimenta y hace aún más increíble y enorme el éxito de Bloc Party.

Ya los veo a todos ustedes, posers emos de closet, gritando a los 4 vientos las nuevas canciones del álbum de niñitas. Me dan asco.

Por cierto que en la premiere nos regalaron este cómic, pero actualizado, una re-edición del original, con portada metálica y toda la cosa.

Convertidos en… por lo menos algo que se oye bien.
